Tool Oiler with Camellia Oil (Aburatsubo)
The Aburatsubo Tool Oiler is a fantastic way to lubricate and protect your tools and blades.
Description
The Aburatsubo Tool Oiler is a fantastic way to lubricate and protect your tools and blades.
Japanese craftsmen traditionally kept a small bamboo pot stuffed with cotton wadding within easy reach on their tatami mat work surface, and liberally laced with camellia oil, the wadding served as an automatic oiler; a small bit of wadding seized between the fingers sufficed for a quick lubricating wipe on saw blades, chisels and other tools.
This modern version of the aburatsubo carries out exactly the same function, with the added convenience of a cap with a built-in felt wick for wiping tools without oiling your fingers at the same time.
The pot includes absorbent cotton, fitted with a wick. For protecting blades and for greasing when chiselling out mortises. Use with camellia oil.
*Camellia oil to fill this tool oiler is sold separately.
- Capacity 30 ml
