Based on a traditional Japanese model, precise chamfers can be made easily, consistently and repeatedly with this tool. The wood is Afzelia Quanzensis.
Description
This traditional Japanese-style chamfer plane delivers precise, consistent, and fully repeatable chamfers.
The body is masterfully crafted from a combination of rich mahogany and Afzelia quanzensis (commonly known as Chamfuta), a remarkably stable exotic hardwood sourced from Angola, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe.
The blade is forged from premium O1 oil-hardening tool steel, heat-treated to exacting aircraft-grade standards for outstanding edge retention and durability. Stainless steel button-head screws and solid brass knurled nuts secure the adjustable fences with confidence and elegance.
Lightweight yet robust, this plane is an ideal companion for the discerning fine woodworker, furniture maker, or craftsman who values precision and refinement. It produces clean chamfers up to 12 mm wide, with a bevel angle of 25° (honed to 30° for an even crisper edge).
Blade adjustment is beautifully straightforward: simply loosen the cap screws, press the blade down to the desired depth while the plane remains in the fence, then retighten—no removal or guesswork required.
