This plane mills square shouldered recesses for a variety of tasks including sash work, boat building, carcass construction and cabinet joinery. Built in the continental European style, with a beech wood body and hornbeam sole, it has several advantages over some iron versions.
The fence adjusts laterally under the plane to limit the width of cut and is secured at two locations to prevent the fence from deflecting. The full-length depth stop actually has enough girth to function properly and also has two points of contact. A four-sided, carbide knife spur (cutter / nicker) helps establish the edge of the cut as you begin to plane, which is especially helpful when working across the grain. The blade is bedded at 45 deg.

Shipping within New Zealand is charged at NZD $15 (non-rural) or NZD $17 (rural), including GST, for most products (some exceptions apply). This excludes Great Barrier Island, Waiheke Island, the Chatham Islands, D'Urville Island, and Stewart Island.
All items from a single order will be shipped together. If multiple orders are placed on the same day, by the same person, to the same delivery address, we will do our best to combine them into one shipment, unless otherwise instructed.
