The Galbert Drawsharp

Peter Galbert is a full time chairmaker, toolmaker, teacher and writer. Peter has taught at many craft schools around the U.S. Besides making chairs and teaching, Peter also writes the Chairnotes blog and produces the the Galbert Drawsharp, the Galbert Caliper as well as other woodworking tools. He currently lives and works in Boston, MA. In 2015, he published his first book "Chairmaker's Notebook" with Lost Art Press.

The picture above is one of his latest inventions manufactured by Benchcrafted. This tool allows you to sharpen any drawknives with no hassle and consistent optimum results.

Check the video below for a demonstration:

The Galbert Caliper

The Galbert Caliper gives a constant, accurate reading of the diameter of a work piece as it is cut. It's a "Turner's Tape Measure" the operator simply stops cutting when the desired diameter is reached. There is no need to set multiple tools and use them in the correct locations.

Check the video below to see how it works:

If you want to see more about him and also about Chairmaking check this out from his Book "Chairmaker's Notebook". It is brilliant.

Unfortunately we cannot offer these products to you "yet" but we can help you out with our range of Drawknives from Two Cherries and Camellia oil for your tools.

Cheers and have a great weekend.

Gaston
